We currently have a great opportunity for an ambitious accountant to position themselves for the future with our company. We are looking for an individual to add to our finance team to help plan and direct all accounting functions, ensure timely completion of all activities of sales order processing, billing and accounts receivable management, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger.

Job responsibilities:

• Hiring, training, and supervising competent staff as required to:
  • Process customer orders, coordinating shipments with production, QC, and sales requirements
  • Approve Credit and perform Collection activities to minimize bad debts
  • Record Sales and Accounts Receivable transactions
  • Process Accounts Payable
  • Process weekly Payroll and related Payroll remittances and tax filings
• Day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, A/R, A/P, and fixed assets
• Manage the monthly accounting close process including journal entry review, account reconciliations, and variance analysis to deliver complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting
• Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of efficiency and customer service while maintaining appropriate internal controls and compliance with GAAP
• Evaluating assignment of duties to ensure proper internal accounting controls
• Provide support to plant leadership (cost reduction opportunity identification and monitoring along with benchmark/trend reporting)
• Provide accounting support for corporate and operations functions
• Ad hoc reporting and analysis
• Drive process improvement an efficiency in all accounting and close functions including ERP enhancements
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA and/or public accounting experience is a plus
• 7+ years of experience with demonstrated increasing responsibility

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Technical Accounting knowledge/proficiency: solid understanding of GAAP
• Experience in implementing/maintaining internal controls
• Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics GP Preferred)
• Self-starter who will challenge the status quo
• Excellent Excel skills
• SQL report creation is a plus
• Strong communication skills and comfortable dealing with all levels of personnel
• Ability to make sound decisions quickly
