Entry Level Lab Technician

This position is working at a frozen food manufacturing company working as an Entry Level Lab Technician in the food safety testing laboratory. Candidate must be able to work in a team environment and be able to effectively communicate with plant, quality, warehouse, sanitation, and management personnel. This position will work closely with sanitation to clear lines for allergens, and clean equipment swabbing. Attendance is VERY important in this position – HOURS ARE 5:00am to 1:30pm, with possible extra hours and/or Saturday hours. Responsible for conducting microbiological tests (such as coliform, APC plating, etc.) on raw materials and finished products to ensure products meet specifications. Release product and communicate to warehouse. Place non-conformance products on hold when necessary. Conduct routine equipment and environmental swabbing to ensure plant is in compliance to the food safety and GMP programs. Ensure that quality issues are reported to management. Perform additional assignments per management's direction, as needed. Must have strong writing, math, and verbal communication skills. Must have attention to detail and be able to record accurate production information on all paperwork. On-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate.
