QUALITY ASSURANCE AUDITOR - 2ND SHIFT

This position is responsible for maintaining the quality of food systems on the second shift and providing operations support.

Key Areas Of Responsibility

Assist the plan operations to provide top quality and safe product that meet customer and regulatory requirements and specifications.

• Audit, verify, and follow up on process controls such weights, batch sheets, HACCP records, etc.
• Maintain and manage the calibration program for critical monitoring equipment, such as thermometers.
• Assure that shift sanitation, housekeeping, and GMP's are being followed and comply to regulatory, GFSI, and customer standards.
• Review data, documents, and other quality/HACCP records for compliance to specification and food safety requirements and provide corrective actions when necessary.
• Perform pre-shipment reviews and release product.
• Place non-conforming product on hold and communicate hold notifications.
• Review hold/rework documentation and enter into database.
• Support traceability exercises, product trace, and recall procedures.
• Support plant's food allergen program.
• Manage the metal detection settings program.
• Perform internal audits.
• Assist in Quality and Food Safety training.
• Assist in operations group through on-the-floor-activities such as observations of quality and food safety standard operating (SOP's), approving deviations, and SOP improvements.
• Manage complaint awareness program for production lines.
• Escalate quality for food safety incidents to management.
• Maintain quality records and document control.
• Acts a liaison with USDA inspectors.
• Conducts special projects as assigned.

QUALIFCATIONS

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or other related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2-3 years relevant food, beverage, or consumer products industry experience is required.
• Solid understanding of HACCP, GFSI, Food Safety and Sanitation principles.
• Strong communication skills.
